Electrician

Key Responsibilities:

Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment in accordance with local electrical codes and regulations.
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and electrical schematics to determine the layout and configuration of electrical systems.
Test electrical systems and components using specialized tools and equipment to identify faults, troubleshoot problems, and ensure proper functionality.
Perform preventive maintenance inspections and routine maintenance tasks to detect and address potential issues before they lead to equipment failure or downtime.
Install and configure electrical components, such as switches, outlets, circuit breakers, and lighting fixtures, to meet the specific requirements of clients or projects.
Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and other tradespeople to coordinate electrical installations and ensure compatibility with other building systems.
Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to minimize the risk of electrical hazards, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to lockout/tagout procedures.
Keep accurate records of work performed, including material usage, labor hours, and equipment maintenance, for reporting and billing purposes.
Stay informed about advancements in electrical technology, regulations, and industry best practices to maintain proficiency and adapt to changing requirements.
Provide guidance and training to apprentices and junior electricians to support their professional development and ensure adherence to quality standards.

Qualifications:

Completion of a recognized electrician apprenticeship program or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Journeyman or master electrician license/certification, as required by local regulations.
Strong understanding of electrical principles, codes, and safety practices applicable to residential, commercial, and industrial settings.
Proficiency in electrical troubleshooting techniques and diagnostic tools to identify and resolve problems effectively.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team, with excellent time management and organizational skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Physical fitness and manual dexterity to perform tasks requiring bending, lifting, climbing, and working in confined spaces.
Effective communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, colleagues, and supervisors.
Commitment to continuous learning and professional development to stay current with industry trends and advancements.
Valid driver's license and clean driving record may be required for certain positions that involve travel to job sites.
